It's the day after Thanksgiving and I have determined to begin wishing poeple a Merry CHRISTmas. Not happy holidays or season's greetings. If I run into someone who is Jewish I will wish them a Happy Hannukah, but forget ramadan and kwanzaa, forget winter solstice and winter holiday or any of the other politically correct greetings.
I remember a time when people (in New York no less- where I was living at the time) would greet each other with Merry Christmas and would be more friendly. Where have those days gone? Hopefully I can restore that by one. I'll call it "A CHRISTmas of one." Maybe others can join me. Can we restore a real CHRISTmas spirit? Where people resemble Christ more than Scrooge before he was "saved." |
