Adversity at Work Update
30.9.04
I had time to pray and felt that I should not brood over my work situation. I met with my boss and spoke honestly about how I have felt. She worked with me so that I can attend a marriage conference and she offered to work on my schedule, but I told her to forget about this month. We will try to make next month better (if I don't get the other position which is 9-5, M-F). I will get a week off in November to visit friends in Pensacola too. Things have improved 100%.

I attribute it to prayer. God gave me peace about a direction to follow. He is awesome.

Dealing With Adversity
I have been dealing (and not too well, I think) with adversity on my job and with friends who have had personal issues.

On my job, I have requested a transfer into a different position which I have a decent shot at obtaining. However, my schedule in my current position is more horrible than it has been since I started. I am required to work Sundays 3-11 every week of this month. Add to that I have to work 11-7 Saturday twice this month and you will understand why I am struggling with this happenstance. My schedule has been the worst of the 3 full-timers at my position since I started where I work back in April. Trying not to become bitter about it is difficult, trying to stand up for myself without compromising humility is also a stretch. I have several options, but prayer is my first concern. I need God's direction.

On another topic, I have a sister who has cancer. She is 29. She has been told that she has only a few months left to live. She is a strong and faithful Christian, and it is difficult to know how to feel. I want to demand of God, "Why?!" But I know He is faithful and loves her more than I could ever hope to.

Candidate Has the Guts to Stand Against Islam
29.9.04
From WorldNetDaily:

Candidate names fundamentalist Islam as enemy
Muslim groups protest his contention terrorist acts not aberration

Muslim groups are protesting the comments of a Republican candidate for Congress who contends terrorist acts are not "aberrational behavior" by a few extremists but part of the expansionist aims of fundamentalist Islam.

GOP candidate Kurt Eckhardt

Kurt Eckhardt, who is challenging three-term Rep. Jan Schakowsky, told WorldNetDaily he won't retract statements to the Daily Herald newspaper of suburban Chicago.

"There's not a chance I will do that," he said in an interview with WND.

Finally, a politician who will not bow to political correctness. If you read the Qur'an you will find violence and murder condoned. If you look at islamic history you will find murderous behavior justified by mohammed and allah.

I hope Mr. Eckhardt does not go back on his word. He is right. Most of the world's terrorists are islamic. True Christians following the Bible do not use murder as a weapon. True muslims can use murder as a weapon based on the Qur'an and islamic history dating back to mohammed as described in my recent post.

If Islam is a religion of peace...
Why are terrorists almost 100% of the time muslim? The murderous cowards in Russia who took the children hostage have links to al qaida according to this WorldNetDaily article.

When is the last time we saw an organized group of Evangelical Christians take hostages, killing them one by one? I'd venture to say never.

Historically, Mohammed and his followers were ruthless and bloodthirsty. In the beginning, he preached peace, later he preached it was acceptable to fight, and finally, when his army was powerful he taught it was commanded by allah that they fight and kill non-Muslims that refused to convert.

In The Truth About Islam Don Walton tells of several incidents of Mohammed blessing ruthless, cowardly acts: "On his way home from a failed attempt at assassinating an enemy of Mohammed, a Muslim assassin murdered a one-eyed shepherd simply because he refused to embrace Islam. While the elderly shepherd slept, this faithful follower of Mohammed jabbed an arrow through his eye until it came out the back of his neck. When he reported the incident to Mohammed, he received the prophet's blessing." Another story involves an assassin, Umayr Awf, who murdered a sleeping mother while she was nursing her baby and was surrounded by her sleeping children and was commended by Mohammed for the actions.

Why don't we ever hear of these stories? I guarantee that Jesus never committed such atrocities. Carl F. H. Henry, a noted Theologian, wrote in his book Christian Personal Ethics that Jesus "was more than the great Teacher of ethics. He was it's great Liver." (p. 398) He follows with "The magnificent feature of Jesus Christ is that He not only proclaimed a superlative ethic, but He lived it to the full." (p. 399) Here is the great difference between Islam and Christianity. Mohammed lived a life of sin and called on his followers to follow suit. Jesus lived a sinless life, paid the penalty for the sins of those that would believe and called Christians to holiness. Christianity has some blemishes, but they come from a lack of adherance, not from following Christ.

Some facts about Mohammed: he married a six year old (his successor Abu Bakr's daughter Aisha), but did not find it proper to consummate the marriage until she was nine. He lusted after his adopted son's wife and suddenly had a command from allah that his adopted son was to divorce the woman and Mohammed was to marry her. He allowed for "temporary marriages" in "the Law of Desire" so that a marriage as short as "a quarter of an hour" will allow legal adultery. Some Shiites still practice this today.

With all this (and so much more) being a part of Islam's teaching and history, no wonder some of them will murder children and decapitate people (while wearing masks like cowards), or wear bomb vests to murder innocent people, or crash airplanes into buildings.

So does islam mean peace? The facts say no and so does the arabic.

Persecution
28.9.04
I have been reading David Limbaugh's most recent book Persecution. I think it further prompts me to prepare to homeschool my three year old daughter. I think she's off to a good start, being fluent in English and Português.

The NEA and many schools use the First Amendment- which was written to secure and guarantee religious freedom and free speech- to deny students of religious freedom and to frequently teach values opposed to the values the parents teach.

Hillary Klinton said "It Takes a Village," but that is not true. It takes dedicated parents. No teacher or school or nation has the right to teach my children things that conflict with our faith.

Vouchers: Why should I, as a Christian, an American and a citizen, not be able to use a voucher to send my child to a Christian school? It is not the nation (or to put it Constitutionally- the Congress) sponsoring a "religion," but my personal choice as a TAXPAYER and a CITIZEN as well as a CHRISTian and a PARENT which school my child should attend. Is this not supposed to be a nation based on freedom and liberty?

Teachers: While I know there are many good teachers, I also know that the system favors bad teachers- ones that despise Christian values and espouse political correctness. If, for some reason, my children have to attend public school (God please forbid!!), I intend to be extremely involved. I intend to know what they are studying and what the school is teaching my daughter. If they criticize our faith or teach values (or the absence thereof) that conflict with our Christian/Biblical values, there will be issues. If, however, we have to allow our children into public schools and we get good teachers, I will make equal efforts to thank them publically.

Just some thoughts related to the educational system in the USA.

One More Post About JEANNE
27.9.04
We lost power for about 1/2 the day, but it is back on now. I drove home from work and it was very windy and the rain was still coming down.

I had about 6 messages on the phone, one from a dear friend, my "big Sister," who just went through Ivan in Panama Beach. I appreciated her concern. This was also the second Sunday in the past 4 weeks that church had to be cancelled due to a hurricane. Not fun.

Tomorrow we continue to face the south part of the storm from what I am told. Lots of rain. Well, no damage that I can see to the house, so good bye Jeanne!

JEANNE FINISHING UP
26.9.04
Things are nasty outside. Several times today I ended up getting soaked and blown around. Unfortunately, I did not get any good pictures that I know of. I will bring my camera with me tomorrow, but I doubt I will find anything interesting. If I do I will post it.

Mean Jeanne
The storm is hitting us now. I will try to set up some photos if I have the chance. Hopefully I can snap some decent weather shots.  We are weathering this one out where I work since administration didn't realze this would be a hit to our area. We are to proceed "status quo."

Jeanne Tracked Across Our House
25.9.04
The hurricane is tracking pretty much over Hernando County. We in Spring Hill may be in the middle of the strongest part. I prepared some, but we will most likely head to where I work for the brunt of the storm. I just pray that it does not head toward Pensacola and Alabama. They have had enough. Unfortunately, so had Polk county and Orlando, but they will see more.

This is the fourth hurricane to hit Florida in six weeks: Charley, Frances, Ivan and now Jeanne. What will Lisa do? Lord, give us wisdom.

JEANNE is Threatening
Looks like we in Florida are going through it again. Jeanne's track is pushing deeper into the state, which means more trouble for Orlando, Lakesland and the east coast. Our prayers are with them.  I just hope it doesn't hit the panhandle again. Our prayers at myall4One will be directed that way.

Mission.Brasil Ministry
I am the Missions Director for Mission.Brasil, a ministry dedicated to reaching Brasil with the Gospel of Christ.

We have several partnerships with missionaries in Brasil and a partnership with Faith Missions here in the United States. We are working to solidify support and raise funds to establish a base in Brasil. M.B has three current points of focus: Manaus/Amazonas, Campo Grande/Matto Grosso do Sul and the Northeast including Natal,RN and Recife, PE.

It has been a challenge, but we have never missed an opportunity to minister in Brasil when invited. Our next trip is scheduled for July of 2005. We even step out of our focus in a tentatively scheduled trip to Russia in 2006.

Since mblog wouldn't respond when my blog went down, I decided to try another spot. I think this service offers more and seems to be run better.

I will begin to post immediately. I will cover anything I am interested in from my Christian view. I will not always be right, but I will always be well right of center.
