| NHL Season on Verge of Rescue |
| 19.2.05 |
Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux are working to salvage the NHL season and the reputation of the league (if not the league itself). According to an article by Dan Wetzel in Yahoo! Sports, Gretzky and Lemieux have effectively "weakened, if not usurped" Goodenow and Bettman. And I love this quote: In classic anti-Bettman, anti-Goodenow fashion, Gretzky and Lemieux have thus far downplayed their roles, saying all they did was talk. Those two have already combined for 2,981 assists, what's one more that saves the league? Now to fire these two bozos and make the NHL exciting again.
Think about it, if Bettman and Goodenow really wanted what was best for the league and it's fans, they would have demanded 16-hour-a-day daily meetings to work this out before the season even was scheduled to begin. They did not care about the league and the fans, so why should anyone now care about them? |
