Hebrews 5:7-9
I could not pass this article up. Don Walton of Time For Truth ministries writes a weekly Column. Below is an excerpt with a link to the full article. He takes on a cost-less version of Christianity this week. If our salvation is just about doing what we want (like gay "churches," or racist "churches") or getting what we want (the health and wealth "gospel"), is that really salvation? Anyone who reads this weblog knows my answer for that is a resounding "NO!"
Don mentions actions by the Metropolitan Community "church" in Seminole Heights. The Metropolitan Community "churches" are devoted to the acceptance and encouragement of homosexual behavior. They are unrepentant. Don has a great take on this without focusing on the MCc too much. Please read:
Although we have turned it into a pretty picture, a piece of jewelry, and a steeple topper, the cross is and always has been a symbol of death. Crucifixion is the cruelest means of execution ever dreamed up in the demented mind of a depraved world. To Christ, the cross meant more than indescribable suffering and physical death; it also meant dying to His will in order to submit Himself to the will of His Father (Matthew 26:39, 42). As a result of His supreme act of obedience, Christ has become "the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him" (Hebrews 5:7-9). In other words, only those like Christ- willing to take up the cross, deny themselves, and do the will of God- will be saved by Christ (Matthew 7:21)!
This explains Jesus' words in Mark 8:36, (Click here to continue reading this article) |

In the last post I stated, "this is the outline of the message that has caused some controversy where I preached today." Well, I met with the people to explain, Scripturally, what the message meant. I stuck to the message and produced a four page list of Scripture to support my position. (I had to translate it into English and Spanish because the ministry is split down those lines)
After about a 30 minute discussion the matter was solved with the parties agreeing that the message was hard, but Biblical. The four page document is copied below.
Many will not be saved- though they will think they are.
Luke 13.22-27 And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then one said to Him, "Lord, are there few who are saved?"
And He said to them, "Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, "Lord, Lord, open for us,' and He will answer and say to you, "I do not know you, where you are from,' then you will begin to say, "We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.' But He will say, "I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.'
Matthew 7.21-23 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!' Mateo 7:21-23 "No todo el que me dice: 'Señor, Señor Muchos me dirán en aquel día: 'Señor, Señor, ¿no profetizamos en tu nombre, y en tu nombre expulsamos demonios e hicimos muchos milagros?' Entonces les diré claramente: 'Jamás los conocí. ¡Aléjense de mí, hacedores de maldad!' Luke 6:47-49 I will show you what he is like who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice. He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete."
Repentance is needed for salvation. It is a part of saving faith which God grants to a person and in His grace He provides salvation.
Matthew 3.1-3 In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!" For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: "The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the LORD; Make His paths straight."' Mateo 3:1-3 En aquellos días se presentó Juan el Bautista predicando en el desierto de Judea. Decía: "Arrepiéntanse, porque el reino de los cielos está cerca." Juan era aquel de quien había escrito el profeta Isaías: "Voz de uno que grita en el desierto: 'Preparen el camino para el Señor, háganle sendas derechas.' "
Matthew 4.17 From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Matthew 9:13 But go and learn what this means: "I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."
Porque no he venido a llamar a justos sino a pecadores.
Mark 1.14-15 Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel."
Mark 6.12 So they went out and preached that people should repent.
Luke 13.3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. Luke 15.7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Luke 24.46-47 Then He said to them, "Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Lucas 24.46-47 Esto es lo que está escrito --les explicó--: que el Cristo padecerá y resucitará al tercer día, y en su nombre se predicarán el arrepentimiento y el perdón de pecados a todas las naciones, comenzando por Jerusalén.
Acts 2.38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Hechos 2.38 Arrepiéntanse y bautícese cada uno de ustedes en el nombre de Jesucristo para perdón de sus pecados --les contestó Pedro--, y recibirán el don del Espíritu Santo.
Acts 3.19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord Hechos 3.19 Por tanto, para que sean borrados sus pecados, arrepiéntanse y vuélvanse a Dios
Acts 17.30-31 Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent, because He has appointed a day on which He will judge the world in righteousness by the Man whom He has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising Him from the dead." Hechos 17.30-31 Pues bien, Dios pasó por alto aquellos tiempos de tal ignorancia, pero ahora manda a todos, en todas partes, que se arrepientan. Él ha fijado un día en que juzgará al mundo con justicia, por medio del hombre que ha designado. De ello ha dado pruebas a todos al levantarlo de entre los muertos.
Romans 2.4 Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? 2 Corinthians 7.9-10 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.
2 Timothy 2:25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth 2 Timoteo 2:25 Así, humildemente, debe corregir a los adversarios, con la esperanza de que Dios les conceda el arrepentimiento para conocer la verdad
2 Peter 3.9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
We are saved by grace through faith. God gives us the faith to believe and draws us.
Ephesians 2.8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.
John 6.44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Romans 12.3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

| I do not know you...Depart from Me- Jesus |
| 19.6.05 |
Okay, this is the outline of the message that has caused some controversy where I preached today. I supported everything with Scripture, but I did say that it is not works or words that save, it is faith in Christ and repentance. I will not retract anything I said, unless it can be shown, Biblically, where there is error. Since I appealed to Scripture for everything I said, I don't think it can be successfully challenged Scripturally.
Few Will Be Saved Jesus responded the gate is narrow- few enter. Salvation is not a magic trick or saying words, it is coming to God in repentance with faith.
Many Will Not Be Known Many will think they are saved, but Jesus does not know them. Works do not save. Words do not save. Repentance and faith in Christ save.
Many Will Be Lost Many think they are saved and will end up surprised and in hell.
All are Sinners
Romans 3.10-11 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one; there is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God.Â
Romans 3.23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God
There is a Price for Sin
Romans 6.23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Revelation 20.15 anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.
Isaiah 53.6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
Hebrews 9.22 according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Salvation is Only Found in Jesus
Romans 10.9-10, 13 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
Acts 3.19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out
Acts 4.12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Salvation Makes Us a Part of God's Family
John 1.12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.
Galatians 3.29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

| Reformed Churches Proceed With Church Discipline |
| 18.6.05 |
Finally, a group of churches stand up to immorality by one of their sinning leaders. Norman Kansfield, a minister with the Reformed Churches of America, was also the president of an RCA seminary. He was stripped of the position of professor of theology and removed as president of the seminary. According to the RCA website: Lawyers for the accusers and for the accused were allowed 90 minutes each to present their cases. Visitors and staff were then excused from the plenary room to allow delegates to discuss the issue. Delegates voted by ballot on the three charges, all of which were found to be proven to a high degree of probability.
Synod then moved into executive session to discuss what discipline should be imposed against Kansfield. The delegates decided to exercise discipline by deposing him from the office of General Synod Professor of Theology and suspending him from the office of Minister of Word and Sacrament. Mr. Kansfield, or maybe I should title him the Wrong Reverend Norman Kansfield, said, "The church of Jesus Christ needs to be as inclusive as the arms of our Lord himself." Actually, I find Jesus to be exclusive. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7.13-14 NIV)
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him. (John 3.36 NIV)
He who rejects Me and does not receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day. (John 12.48 NASB)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14.6 KJV)
Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4.12 NKJV)
Jesus does not sound so politically correct and "inclusive" in the Word of God. Why do so many claiming to be ministers of the Gospel try to paint Him as a pansy/hippie loser? Maybe they want Him to be in their image. Mr. Kansfield should repent ad should his daughter. |

| By Grace |
| 11.6.05 |
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2.8-9 KJV) I was talking to my coworker about my faith in Christ, and she said a Lutheran pastor told her that he saw the difference between Catholicism (Romanism) and Lutheranism as works verses grace. I clarified what he meant for her, because how she explained it sounded more like universalism. I then spoke to her about salvation being found in none other than Jesus. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. (Acts 4.12 KJV)
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14.6 KJV) I will have about seven more hours to share my faith in Christ with her. My prayer is that she will be able to apply John 1.12 to her life:But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name (NKJV) May God release this dear lady from the bonds of Romanism and into the freedom that comes from slavery to Christ my Master. |

| Busy With Faith Missions/Mixed Items |
| 9.6.05 |
This past week I was sick for the fist few days and then busy with completing the Faith Missions newsletter. I have, unfortunately, neglected my weblog. I did comment on a few during that time, though.
I will bullet point some things that I wanted to comment on, but for this purpose I will be brief: WND Article- "Bush dinner's porn star: I'm a praying Christian"- Mary Carey is an adulteress, an illustration of the Romanist church used in the Revelation of Jesus Christ to show it's evil and anti-Christ nature. (And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Revelation 17.4-5 KJV) Mary Carey is also full of abominations. She needs to repent and be more than a "Christian" in name only. She ain't showin' the fruit of the Spirit. Another WND Article- "Judge orders city: Fly the 'gay' flag"- I see, homosexuality is protected by the courts, but in the court's view, you cannot be a Christian and express it. The government can endorse sodomy, but cannot allow citizens of faith to express it on public buildings. Let's if Judge Henry Lee Adams Jr., well I'll call him "Hank," let's see if Hank would support Christian banners hanging from that bridge. I bet Hank would rule against that. The Tampa Bay Lightning are now defending the Stanley Cup for the second straight year. I am insisting they are half way toward a dynasty. The Tampa Bay devil Rays- I will not waste a link to this pitiful team. They led 6-1 at the top of the third a few games ago. I told my co-worker that they'd find a way to lose. Guess what: 9-7 loss; yesterday they led 9-7 and lost 11-9. They are the only team that I have ever heard had to "hang on for a 6-2 win." They rot. Finally, I heard hockey was back. Hockey and rumors of Hockey. It is not so. Bettman and Goodenow should be tarred and feathered. |
