| hXc: HardCore Christian Style (S.i.w.C.) #2 |
| 30.5.06 |
For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin. (Romans 6.5-7 NASB)
This song is straight-forward and, in typical hardcore fashion, to the point. Humans are slaves to sin and can only be set free by Jesus Christ. He is the one Who has the power to break the bondage we have to sin.
As slaves we have limited ability to choose what we can do. That is why we must count on God to bring us freedom. It all depends on the price Christ paid: His death and resurrection. The blood of no other can save us.
Of course the crux of the message of salvation, change and freedom is empowered by Christ within is. The power and life of the God Who created the universe living inside His children- what a wonderful truth!
"Slave to My Sin"
I was a slave to my sin Until I met a special friend Broke the chains, set me free Now He lives inside of me....
Jesus, Jesus Crucifixion Jesus, Jesus Resurrection Jesus, Jesus Crucifixion Jesus, Jesus Resurrection

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."Romans 1.16-17 NKJV)
In this day of so many in "Christian" music coming out with watered down lyrics, I felt it was time to revisit some of my former band's music. While I know that most of those who check out this weblog will not like the style of the music, my conviction is different. I hope we can agree to accept one another dispite disagreeing in this area. I would rather we focus on the lyrics.
Today I will highlight "Double Wedding." It is a song I came up with after praying, asking God to help me write a new song. It is from 1991 and it is in the hardcore style. Although this song is slightly more polished than the others, the message is as direct as any of them. I think you will see that these songs are very up front about whom we serve. Lyrics below:
Boy meets boy and girl meets girl It's a double wedding in a changing world Mom and dad just don't understand "Why has Bobby gone and married another man?" It's so nice, and not so strange Just a little nature has been rearranged Flowers in his hair and his cute little dress Bobby likes him most when his hair's a little messed...
The honeymoon's a nice one- they get the bridal suite Breakfast in bed and a little sodomy...
(Hard part) Can't you see what you're doing And that it's a sin?! God created Adam and Eve Not Adam and Glen! Choose JESUS as your Savior Turn from sodomy Be a new creation Let JESUS set you free...
Don't be gay.
This is the song that receives the most praise and the most condemnation. The beginning it tongue and cheek, the "hard part" it direct in confronting this particular sin. Now the "hard part" seems a little soft in "Let Jesus set you free" instead of a more direct "Only Jesus can set you free," but I think the point is still made clearly.
This song is in line with Leviticus 18.22, Romans 1.24-28, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 and other Scriptures that warn homosexuality is a sin. Please give it a brief listen at the Sheep in wolf's Clothes mypsace page.

| Randall Terry "Pro-Life" Evangelical Leader Converts to Romanism |
| 18.5.06 |
According to the article in the NC Register, Randall Terry (in his own words) has converted to Romanist catholicism. This is why I am no longer involved in "pro-life" activities. They equate Romanism with Biblical Christianity, a union of Christ and the Romanist Belial.
Apparently Mr. Terry has to get his first marriage annulled before he can finish his conversion.
Some of the interview:
What was your greatest fear? That I would wake up and say there was no change in me. That has not been the case. Being in the Church has brought a wonderful sense of belonging. I am part of 2,000 years of Christian history that is glorious, that has warts, and heroes and villains, but that is nonetheless the Church founded by Jesus upon Peter.
Some very poor Romanist theology there. He is a weak man who is becoming "catholic" because he was a nominal evangelical. I doubt he ever truly knew Jesus. He definately does not know the voice of the Holy Spirit:
Which theological hurdles were the most difficult for you to jump? They boiled down to papal infallibility, Marian dogma, and purgatory. For years I have craved to be in the Catholic Church, but couldn’t figure a way to get around these hurdles. They became resolved this Lent. On Ash Wednesday, I started a 40-day fast. I have been in conversation with a priest, Father John Mikalajunas, in Binghamton for over 20 years. To my amazement, during Lent, I sensed that it was the plan of the Holy Spirit to bring us into the Catholic Church. After some further conversations with Father Mikalajunas as well as with other evangelicals who had come into the Church, those theological issues evaporated. Once I realized the Truth, I had to go in. I couldn't wait.
I wonder if he will ever have the opportunity to kiss the pope's ring or to kiss the feet of some famous statue in Rome? What a goof.
"Would you like to see the Pope on the end of a rope - do you think he's a fool?" -Black SabbathAfter Forever (Well I do not condone the first part, but the second part has some merit)Labels: Politics |

| Boycott DaVinci Code? |
| 16.5.06 |
| I don't intend to post much on this (but may change my mind later). I will not be boycotting the DaVinci Code. No, I would not have watched such a film anyway. So I can't really join a boycott. Just like if there was a boycott of Diet Pepsi- since I do not drink soda, how could I boycott it? |

| Brazil Mission: Recife/Manaus 2006 |
| 11.5.06 |
Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. Seeing the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to His disciples, " The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. "Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest." (Matthew 9.35-38 NASB)

The details of my mission trip to Recife and Manaus in June can be found at: the Antioch FBC Brazilian Missions Update pages.
Right now there are a few urgent requests for the mission: 1. that Pastor McNary (my ministry partner for this trip) will be able to get the ticket, passport and visa before he is scheduled to leave. I do not think I am ready to do this alone- especially keeping in mind that we are scheduled in different places certain times. 2. that the ministry would be effective: at the main place of ministry- Primeira Igreja Batista do Recife, or First Baptist Church of Recife in English we are limited to the Conference Theme "Triumphant in Christ Through Prayer." I am not one who excels with themes. I do, however, want to be faithful to the invitation and the calling God has placed on my life. 3. My family: they will be in Florida and my wife will begin her new job June 4th, two days before I leave for Brasil.
Also a major praise report: A Brazilian lady in Clearwater, FL (about 1 hour south of us) donated her old car to us for free. I am estimating that it will cost around $400-$500 to get it in good running condition again, but all it should need is a tune-up, battery, oil change (with lube and filter of course), tires and a thorough cleaning (shampooing the interior and a nice car wash). It is a 1994 Grand Prix SE I believe with some denting on the driver side. It's not spectacular, but I am excited about driving it around. I appreciate the gift of God given through this precious lady (who is also a believer).
If you have any questions or personal comments, please email me. Thanks. |

Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God. Therefore whoever resists authority has opposed the ordinance of God; and they who have opposed will receive condemnation upon themselves. For rulers are not a cause of fear for good behavior, but for evil. Do you want to have no fear of authority? Do what is good and you will have praise from the same; for it is a minister of God to you for good. But if you do what is evil, be afraid; for it does not bear the sword for nothing; for it is a minister of God, an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil. (Romans 13.1-4 NASB)
"For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and insubordination is as iniquity and idolatry because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He has also rejected you from being king." (1 Samuel 15.23 NASB)
From Fox News reporting on the illegal immigrants trying to undermine the United States: "The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops urged immigrants to attend Mass instead of boycotting, and suggested that churches toll their bells in memory of immigrants who died trying to come to the U.S. They also urged students to stay in school."
While there is so much to say about this issue, I will address the Romanist church's flaunting of Scripture and opposition to the sovereignty of the USA. The above Scriptures speak to the Romanist position. God sets up national authorities, even allowing for the evil ones, and they (Rome) oppose a nation that is considering preserving (or beginning) boarder integrity.
As for the businesses that had to close down, Tyson and Purdue chicken are two prime examples, maybe a raid for illegals should be waged when they are running normally. Send the illegals back. And fine the companies.
And to the position "You can't just send 12 million illegals back because it would be too difficult a job," yes we can. Make the government do the job. Begin a pull-out of Iraq and begin using the military to protect us from domestic enemies. Like those who tried to bring our economy down- while many of them are here illegally. A difficult job is not an impossible job.
And, finally, if I hear the US National Anthem in Spanish, I will scream at the top of my lungs as long as it is being played. This is not Canada where "O Canada" is sung in French and English- the French in Quebec are there LEGALLY!
I think it is time for the US Government to follow through with the job of keeping us sovereign as a nation or risk becoming North Mexico. (Do we really want to be more like Mexico? Do the illegals really want this nation to be more like the one they left? They messed up their country, I do not want them messing up ours!)
Okay, that's enough. Let's pray our congress and President do the right thing. May God guide them all. |

| My Sister's Birthday |
| 1.5.06 |
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now. For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1.3-6)
This verse was so appropriate for my sister Diane. I loved her and I now miss her so much. I know she is with Jesus now.
Today would have been her 31st brthday. I rejoice in the Lord that I had so many wonderful years with her. I also rejoice that God gave her a wonderful family and that He is still caring for them in her physical absence.
Robbie, her husband, is now married to a wonderful woman who is treating his kids as if they were her own.
God is so wonderful and faithful. Thank you Jesus. |
