  2 years ago I move to Blogger from mblog. "mblog" kind of disappeared abruptly and I had to search for another blog host. I would have even paid at that point. Fortunately, Blogger is free and superior to what mblog offered.
Over the past two years I lost my dear, beloved Sister, Diane. I have several posts linked on the sidebar. Also, I got into politics several times, but I really tried to dedicate myself to representing the Conservative Christian view (from my perspective) to issues of various natures.
Along the way I have met (although not yet personally) Rand, Dave Norris, Doug and le, Michael G. and many others (sorry I can't mention everyone, but a group are linked on the sidebar also).
Recently, I have began to post some in Portuguese for my dear Brazilian friends and family. That is slow, because I am nowhere near fluent. Hopefully I will be able to improve on this blog and make a true contribution to the Kingdom of God in the future.
Thank you for those who have read this blog and anyone who reads this in the future. I appreciate your time.

Okay, I am recycling this post from my contribution at Spiritual Pathways #2. I have not been able to post recently, so I figured this would be a decent offering to those who have not seen it on SPM2 already.
 The Congregational Church on Laurel Road in Laurel, FL posted this sign and is being berated by many PC religionists in the area and beyond.
The PC religionists are up in arms about the invitation, tongue-in-cheek to be sure, for Muslims to convert to Christianity at this local church. The invitation is seen as inappropriate.
One Muslim even calls Christians: "my fellow brothers and sisters, the People of the Book..."
About that the Koran says: "The Jews call Uzair a son of Allah, and the Christians call Christ the son of Allah.
That is a saying from their mouths; (in this) they but imitate what the unbelievers (infidels) of old used to say. Allah's curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the truth!" (Surah 9:30) Not very "brotherly" or "sisterly" is it?
And the crisis caused by an invitation to convert- peacefully- to faith in Christ, the audacity of Christians to imply that Islamists need salvation! Next thing we'll be hearing is that without Jesus people go to hell! (side note: without Jesus people do go to hell) Here is what the Koran says: "Fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait (ambush) for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent and establish regular prayers and practice regular charity then open the way for them." (Surah 9:5) and: "Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him." (Surah 9:57)
Not really very representative of a "religion of peace," is it? I know, I didn't list a laundry list of evidence against Islam. I won't either. Reading the Koran gives me a headache. It is horribly written and filled with lies and blasphemy. It is double-minded and evil. It leads people to hell. The Bible leads people to heaven through faith in Christ: "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." (Romans 10.17 NASB)
Salvation does not come through adherance to tenents of Isalm or works, but through Jesus: "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4.12 NASB)
Christians are children of God, unlike those who place their faith in anything else: "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1.12-13 NASB)
So it is more of a joke that those who reject Christ would be enraged at a sign in front of a church instead of focusing disgust on a religion that seeks conversion by the sword, intimidation and intolerance. In other words, Islam's conversion by the sword is fine, but a church sign with an invitation for salvation is on the verge of being a HATE CRIME!Labels: Apologetics |
