TIMOTHY PUGH: A WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING
27.6.07
An open letter to any readers of this blog: in the past (2005), we met Timothy Pugh from North Carolina believing him to be a brother in Christ who cherished the Word of God. I invited him to visit for a few days. As he was preparing to make the journey he informed me that he was planning to stay in Florida. His "few days" became much longer, until we had to "evict" him. He ended up causing some division between us and our dear friends and ministry partners with lies, pretty words and flatteries.

In 2005, he moved to Brazil under many false pretenses and married a friend of my wife. He had attempted to be a part of Faith Missions (a ministry we were affiliated with through a Mission.Brasil partnership) and was given several tasks to complete over the period of about six months. He did not complete anything he was charged to do. He was supposed to work toward ordination through Faith Missions, but he left before any of that happened. It should be noted that Timothy Pugh has a history of not completing anything. By his own report he never had a job for very long.

Timothy has proven to be self-serving and dishonest with a lot of flowery words and a knowledge of Scripture, but no evidence of ever applying that Scripture. Apply this Scripture to him:
For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, walk as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things.
(Philippians 3.18-19 ESV)

Also: "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves." (Matthew 7.15 ESV)

The point of this post: Timothy has a habit of throwing names of who he knows around as he recently did with our dear friends and ministry partners (formerly with Faith Missions) while trying to beg for money and "resources." If anyone is contacted by Timothy Pugh with a request for money -or anything else- do your research and check his references. They will probably be less supportive of him than he claims they are.

UPDATE: Just found him online and he claims to be a "pastor." He is unqualified and claims his education as "courses at DCCC, WWC and PBC in NC, USA." No degree, because he has never finished anything in his life.

Facing Adversity: Gaza Baptist Church
19.6.07
In Gaza, not all the population adheres to the Islamic religion. It is true that out of almost one and a half million Palestinians only 2,000 claim to be some sort of “Christian,” and of that number about 200 would be classified “evangelical.”

Today, I would like to focus on one group. The Gaza Baptist Church is the center of worship for between 150-200 Christians. These Christians live daily in the midst of adversity. They live with bombs going off around them and amid persecution from Muslims and nominal “Christian” groups.

According to a WorldNetDaily article, the pastor, Hanna Massad, also holds a United States citizenship and is eligible to return to the USA. He will not leave, however. Pastor Massad is staying where God has called him- to the place where he leads a small remnant of believers. It reminds me of the attitude of Paul:
To the present hour we hunger and thirst, we are poorly dressed and buffeted and homeless, and we labor, working with our own hands. When reviled, we bless; when persecuted, we endure; when slandered, we entreat. We have become, and are still, like the scum of the world, the refuse of all things. (1 Corinthians 4.11-13 ESV)

This small band of Palestinian Baptists endure hardship as good soldiers of Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 2.3-4). They serve as a shining example of how to walk through adversity. I must say, their example has spoken to me personally. I pray that God strengthens me through any adversity I may face in my life. Whether it be the threat of death or just political persecution. The same God that strengthens the Gaza Baptist Church is the God that strengthens me and my family.

Evil in Religion (06/15)
15.6.07
The story is that Islam=Peace. Read the headlines from the Drudgereport in this screenshot. Are these uncommon occurrences?

I would venture to say they are not. We read about Islamic brutality every day. Most of these men probably believe they are doing what God wants them to do, and in a sense they are right. The god of this world (satan) is very pleased to see them murder their enemies. After all, the Bible says, "You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8.44 ESV)

It is unfortunate but true that Islam is the most violent major religion known to man. They take the fifth satanic statement, "Vengeance is mine, no turning the other cheek" (from the satanic bible) as their own command. The Bible teaches:

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be conceited. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord." To the contrary, "if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12.14-21 ESV)
As the society tells us that Islam is a peaceful religion and the world tells us to be "tolerant" of Islamic beliefs, we see the "intolerance" found in Islam- and the world for that matter. Pay attention to the reports of Mosques being blown apart and see who is doing it- not U.S. soldiers, but other Muslims.
