| Putin is Powerless |
| 23.8.08 |

"And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10.28 ESV) Vladamir's Pootin is under the impression that his barely-more-than-Third-World nation's forces can impose their will whenever and wherever they wish. However Vlad's Pootin is under a false assumption.
The above Scripture is a bit out of context, but the principle remains exactly the same. Totally applicable in this sense. Putin can only kill a body, but his soul is in peril. He is bound for hell and depending on the power he has accumulated on Earth. He is like Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Saddam Hussein, etc. A man bent on control and unconcerned with the death in which his tactics result.
"Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the LORD that will stand." (Proverbs 19.21 ESV) Putin's plans may have a result here and now, but when he dies he will face the judgment of God just like everyone else. God is a foe neither Vlad's Pootin, Russia or a world united against Him can withstand. God alone is sovereign. The Soviet Union reborn under Putin is not. If God chooses, He can defeat the Russian armed forces without any effort.
While I am concerned with Vlad's Pootin and his murderous, lying efforts in Georgia (and threats against the Ukraine and other former Soviet captives), I will echo the Psalmist:
"Praise the LORD! Praise the LORD, O my soul! I will praise the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being. Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish." God made it clear to Israel in the O.T. that if they obeyed, one Jew would chase 1000 of his enemies. God also made it clear that if Israel forsook the Lord, very few of the Jews' enemies would wipe out a host of them.
I wonder if the old bear isn't rising up to do a work of judgment; I wonder if this isn't all a work of the Lord. For sure, the West has had it coming for a LONG time. Will the Lord use a "barely-more-that-a-third-world-nation" to humble our ungodly nations?
I guess time will tell.

No doubt brother! The point here is really beyond just "Pootin", the point is that he is just a man and his power is limited. He may be the sword of judgment for the Lord at this time- that it very possible. But he is also going to be judged as a man.
He is nothing compared to the power of God. (I am sure we are in 100% agreement)
